Local Updates from Lighthouse.Net

With each passing day, the demand for broadband Internet continues to grow. The Internet is utilized nationally and even globally for just about everything - education, employment, healthcare, shopping, entertainment, and socialization. Due to the increased reliance we as a culture have placed on the Internet, demand has shifted from "nice to have" to "necessity". Still, rural areas are not served adequately when it comes to quality Internet access.

Here at Lighthouse.Net, we're working to make life better for the communities we serve. This page will be updated with the latest news for each community. Please check back to see our newest plans and learn more about ongoing projects!

Effective Summer 2018, we now offer 24/7 local support. We will be able to assist you at any time at 906-632-1820.

Curtis

Our operations team are aware of and working on intermittent issues from the end of December, and most should be resolved now. They have been chasing down some noise issues. This can be hard to find and troubleshoot with how the current system is built. Although not impossible, it is not an ideal situation to get customer issues resolved as quickly as we would like to. They will continue to work on finding the noise causing these issues.

Engadine

Tower site upgrade was completed in September 2018. This upgrade delivers Internet speeds up to 50 Mbps with other speed options available as well. We will be dropping a fiber node next to Millecoquin Lake. Doing this will not only stabilize the plant (and prepare for full upgrades) but also eliminate many possibilities when trying to troubleshoot an issue. This will reduce the time services are out when we do encounter an issue. This construction is expected to be completed by end of January 2019.
